Fabric: Cotton Sateen

"The Song to the River and Fertility” is an original artwork printed on fabric. This wall hanging is part of Juliana Silva's "Dance Forms in the Street" art project. The project features several large digital prints on textiles that explore the joyful and healing roots of street carnivals and festivals. It highlights how ritual elements, such as visual symbolism, dance, music, and costumes, come together, showcasing the joy and community spirit present in these events.

The design features intricate patterns that blend cultural elements from the artist's visits to Colombia's Blacks and Whites Carnival and the Cali Fair. These elements include braids and hats symbolizing women working in the fields, panthers representing volcanic strength, and jingle bells worn by dancers to signal the start of the festivities. These vibrant textile works celebrate the mix of Afro-descendant, Indigenous, and Spanish influences, highlighting the rich multicultural heritage of these celebrations.

The artwork is printed on cotton sateen fabric using high-quality, permanent inks made for natural fabrics. This wall hanging is ready to display. It has two dowels in pockets—one at the top and one at the bottom—and two D-rings at the top for easy hanging.

This art print is a limited edition of 10 pieces and includes a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist.
